Alicia Guevara Joins the Fight Against Blood Cancer as a Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year Candidate
SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 30, 2017) – Seventeen candidates from San Antonio are set to kick off a 10 week fundraising campaign with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Man & Woman of the Year.
Alicia Guevara, of San Antonio, has joined the crusade against blood cancers as a Woman of the Year candidate. The 10 week campaign is set to kick off on April 6, 2017 and concludes with a Grand Finale Gala at the La Cantera Hill Country Resort on June 16, 2017.
Alicia has been in the film and television industry for over 18 years and has a diverse group of clients including international celebrities, politicians and public figures. She is also the Owner of The Oxygen Room and Beauty Bar.
The Man and Woman of the Year competition has been held across the country for the last 20 years. The San Antonio/South Central Texas LLS Chapter catapulted into the Million Dollar Campaign ranks for the first time in 2013 and continues to raise the amount of funds alongside chapters from New York City and the National Capitol Area.
This is the 24th year nationally and the 9th year for the San Antonio chapter to participate.
Alicia is running in honor of her dear friend, Amanda Ramirez, a leukemia survivor.
She will be hosting a Private Kick Off event at Mercedes Benz of San Antonio on April 8th as well as a Golf Tournament at The Club of Sonterra on May 5th.
Alicia is running for the title of Woman of the Year against 7 other women in San Antonio. The South Central Texas Chapter has 8 men running this year as well as an All Star Candidate, a former Man of the Year candidate running against other former winners across the nation.
